FUN | EXHILARATING | FAMILY ORIENTED

Going to Curacao was my first ever destination wedding! Gabby and I grew up together, growing up she was my best friend. Going to the neighborhood park people would always think we were sisters because of our tall height, dark hair and freckles. I moved farther away in second grade, but we always kept in touch and were always lifelong friends. When she asked me to do her wedding makeup, I was beyond flattered. Whenever a close friend asks me to play such an important role in their wedding it really does make me emotional! Gabby and Igor picked Curacao as their wedding destination- and my whole family was invited to the wedding. The wedding week was SO much fun!

Santa Barbara Resort was heavenly and known for the calm waters, beautiful spacious rooms, and top notch service. Its also really safe in Curacao and filled with delicious restaurants, lovely people, and the ocean is the most gorgeous shade of blue. Gabby had a welcome dinner, where I also did her makeup. We treated it as a trial for the following day since I had only done her makeup prior for her NYC bridal shower and we were going for a more natural beauty route for her island wedding.

On the wedding day, I arrived to Gabby’s hotel room where her and her bridal party were getting ready. Gabby’s bridesmaids were getting ready by a local artist and her team, and I was just in charge of doing Gabby’s makeup! We decided on a shimmery, neutral eye, a somewhat natural lash, and skin that showed through since I would be around for touch ups. The end result was perfect and Gabby looked like a dream. Gabby’s friends were in awe at her in her beautiful dress and her and Igor set off for photos amongst the beautiful backdrop of Curacao.

I got myself and my sister ready and met Gabby back where she was doing pictures for a quick touch up and then it was time for her to walk down the aisle. Gabby and Igor exchanged vows amongst beautiful palm trees and nearly everyone teared up, you could feel how much they loved each other. Once they sealed the deal with a kiss, we were off to the party which lasted for hours and had EVERYONE on the dance floor. Gabby’s makeup survived until the firework finale in the wee hours of the morning and then it was time for some sleep!

Truly an epic weekend.
